...lend a hand as I build the list, a Resources Post
I will confess right at the top of this post and get it out of the way. I have some homework to do and this post is killing two birds, I get a post out this week and I get my homework done.
Ok.
One of my top read posts happens to be about my homework. In our journey out into our new NonDē future I personally needed to gather data and learn from other people. To me case studies around distribution are super helpful and so I built a post around all the useful case studies I could find. What’s amazing is I was somehow riding a wave of case studies that I didn’t even know was happening and shortly after posting, more and more have been published from the good work of many people, including a bunch right here on FilmStack. I’ve updated this post regularly as I come across new ones. The sharing going on is essential. Without similar data sharing and experience sharing we’re just running around in the dark each time we release a film.
**a quick sketch of some of the things I’m interested in from case study data and anecdotes. what would your sketch look like?
My homework, you guessed it, is compiling and maintaining an ongoing resource list of film distribution case studies for a think tank group of industry folks working on resources for filmmakers and operational improvements. Essentially a group that’s co-creating with you our NonDē distribution future. What I’ve focused on in my list is gathering case studies post pandemic. The distribution landscape has significantly changed and I’ve left room for the odd pre-pandemic case study as there are some that are just that helpful.
